Caterpillar 320c excavator manufacturers

The Caterpillar 320C is a legendary medium-sized excavator. You must verify the Cat 3066 T diesel engine performance, ensuring it delivers the standard 138 hp (103 kW). Check the operating weight, which typically ranges around 21,000 kg (46,300 lbs). Crucially, inspect the hydraulic system pressure (34,300 kPa) and swing speed (11.5 rpm) to ensure the machine meets original factory cycle times. For used units, request the ECM (Electronic Control Module) data report to verify actual working hours versus the hour meter.

Prioritize machines that have undergone Ultrasonic Testing (UT) on the boom and arm to detect internal cracks. Ensure the unit complies with ROPS (Roll-Over Protective Structure) and FOPS (Falling Object Protective Structure) standards. For international trade, verify that the engine emission levels meet the destination country's requirements (e.g., EPA Tier 2 or Stage II equivalents). Always check for CE marking if importing into the European Economic Area.

Focus on the undercarriage, specifically the link growth, bush wear, and sprocket teeth condition; a worn undercarriage can cost over $5,000 to replace. Inspect the main hydraulic pump for signs of cavitation or leaks, and check the final drives for oil purity. Ensure the bucket linkage pins and bushings have minimal play, as excessive clearance reduces digging precision and increases fuel consumption.

This is a common risk in the used machinery market. You should hire a professional third-party inspector (like SGS or CCIC) to conduct an on-site appraisal. Request a video of the machine performing a 'stall test' to check hydraulic strength. On Made-in-China.com, prioritize Audited Suppliers who provide comprehensive inspection reports and high-resolution photos of the serial number plates on the chassis, engine, and pump to ensure they match the paperwork.

For a Caterpillar 320C, Roll-on/Roll-off (RoRo) shipping is the safest method to prevent structural damage. Alternatively, Flat Rack containers are used for oversized loads. If cost-saving is a priority, the machine can be disassembled and packed into a 40ft High Cube container, but you must factor in the reassembly costs and potential seal damage upon arrival. Ensure the supplier provides a Clean Report of Findings and follows ISPM 15 wood packaging standards for any crated parts.

Avoid 100% upfront payments. Use Letters of Credit (L/C) for large transactions or Escrow-based payment services offered by reputable platforms like Made-in-China.com. Adopt Incoterms 2020 like FOB (Free On Board) or CIF (Cost, Insurance, and Freight) to clearly define the point of risk transfer. Ensure the Bill of Lading (B/L) is only released after you receive confirmation of the machine's departure and all Export Declaration documents are verified.
